IRGC USES TWITTER TO SHARE HOW THEY IMAGINE AN ATTACK AGAINST US SHIP IN THE GULF

The Pasdaran has decided to use their Twitter account to publish how they imagine an attack against an enemy ship in the Strait of Hormuz. The plan is based on three points:

  1. the Iranian high speed boats can disguise themselves as normal fishing boats
  2. the speed boats, equipped with missiles and mines, can carry out the attack
  3. the boats will attack using explosives against the enemy’s ship.

The Iranian high speed boats will probably launch anti-ship missiles like Hormuz 1 and Hormuz 2, recently unveiled in an IRGC exhibition in Iran. The second part of the attack, will be under the responsibility of “traditional resources”, like Iranian submarines and military aircrafts. In particular, the IRIAF will use its Tomcat F14, old fighters aircrafts recently modernized to extend their operative life.  As the picture below demonstrates, the Iranians are well aware of their incapability to win enemies like United State with a traditional war. Because of this, the biggest part of the plan it’s based on an asymmetric confront, with the clear goal to confuse the enemy before launching the big second attack with ballistic missiles from the air, ground and water.
