Iraqi Ayatollah al Sistani reacts to Ali Younesi: “we are not ready to lose our identity and indipendence”

Iraqi Ayatollah al Sistani reacted to the words of Rouhani’s advisor Ali Younesi, who said that Baghdad is the capital of the new Iranian Empire. Speaking during the Friday Sermon in Kerbala, al Sistani said that, even if Baghdad thanks Tehran for the support against Daesh, this does not mean that Iraq “will lose its indipendence and identity”. This reaction against Iranian interfiring in the region is very important, expecially because al Sistani is considered a source of emulation in the Shia world and he does not support the Khomeini’s ideas and the Velayat-e Faqih.
