As well known, Iraqi Prime Minister al Abadi visited Iran, where he met also the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Between the members of al-Abadi delegation, there was also Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, leader of the Shia militia Kataib Hezbollah. The travel of al-Abadi in the Islamic Republic and the presence with him of Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes – a man considered under direct control of Qassem Soleimani – are likely to amplify the distance between Shia and Sunni inside Iraq. A distance that will probably convince more Iraqi Sunni tribes, to swear allegiance to the “Caliph” Al Baghdadi.
In the meantime, Moqtada al Sadr – leader of the Sadrist Movement – has threaten United States in an interview with France24TV. Al Sadr said that “if It Enters Iraq [the US Army], We Will Target It Like We Target ISIS”.
