Saudi Arabia security forces have finally arrested Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Mughassil one of the terrorists responsible for the “Khobar Towers Bombing”, happened in Dhahran in 1996. The attack, paid by Iran, was materially realized by a terrorist group called “Saudi Hezbollah”. Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Mughassil is considered the man who controlled the relations between the Saudi cell and the Iranian officials. From what it’s possible to read on the Saudi press, it seems that Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Mughassil has been captured in Beirut and transferred in Riyadh.
Nineteen U.S. servicemen were killed in the Khobar Towers Bombing and more than 400 people were wounded. In 2006, a U.S. federal judge ordered Iran to pay $254 million to the families of the victims. During the time of the Khobar Towers attack, the actual President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, was the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). The SNSC has a parallel structure called the Committee for Special Operations (Omure Vijeh Committee). which deals with special “extralegal” actions, between them also terrorist attacks against enemies and the assassinations of opponents.
