Hojjatoleslam Ali Saeedi, Khamene’s representative in the Revolutionary Guards, has implicitly compared Hassan Rouhani to Nikita Khrushchev. He warned against the continuation of a foreign policy too open toward the West and the United States. To demonstrate the risks of this foreign policy, he took as example the failure of the “peaceful coexistence”, promoted by the former President of Soviet Union Nikita Khrushchev (who was also the one who started the de-Stalinization). Saeedi condemned who is promoting the creation of a pro-Western Parliament, underlining the importance of following the rigid line of Ali Khamenei, in order to avoid foreign conspiracies.

Speaking in the same occasion, Hossein Taeb – head of the Intelligence unit of the IRGC – said that, in order to remain the master of the Middle East, United States needs to “capture Iran”. But, said Taeb, the plan of Obama will fail and America should accept that it will follow the same fate of Soviet Union (Digarban).
