The Iranian Foreign Ministry decided to summon the UK Ambassador in Tehran, Nicholas Hopton. The decision arrived after the meeting of the GCC in Bahrain, last week, in which the UK Prime Minister Theresa May, strongly condemned the aggressive behavior of Iran in Middle East, especially in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon (May accused Iran to undermining stability of these countries). May also reaffirmed that London is committed to the security of the countries of the GCC. The attacks of May provoked the immediate reaction of the Iranian regime: Mr. Bahram Ghasemi – Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – announced the decision to summon Ambassador Hopton. Iran and Great Britain have restarted the normal diplomatic relations only in September 2016, after the crisis of 2011.
