Is Iranian regime ready to put ex President Khatami under house arrest?

The website Saham News revealed that the Iranian security forces surrounded the residence of former President Khatami, forbidding him to leave his house. Few hours after the deployment, the security forces left the area, permitting to Khatami to go out. In any case, this news is very important, because could mean that – in any moment in the next future – the regime could decide for put Khatami under house arrest, like it happened in February 2011 to Mousavi and Karroubi. The action of the security forces arrived after the decision of the Iranian magistrature to forbid to Khamenei the possibility to take part to public events for three months. More interesting, the fact happened even if few days ago, for the first time, Khatami has expressed his support to IRGC, after the speech of Trump

Hojatoleslam Toyserkani, Iran Supreme Leader representative to the Basij, denied any change of ideas of Ali Khamenei on the destiny of the leaders of the Green Movement. Hojatoleslam Toyserkani added that the Supreme Leader, personally, supports the continuation of the house arrests for Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, the two leaders of the protest movement, repressed by the regime between 2009 and 2011. The two are under house arrest since February 2011, without any formal charge and without a fair trial.

Iranian Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi – member of the Assembly of Expert – said that the arrest of Mousavi and Karroubi is lawful. He added that the two leaders of the Green Movement must remain in detention, because they’ve incited the people against the system during the protest of 2009. The Iranian regime continues to describe the “event of 88” as a “sedition”. Mir Hossein Mousavi, his wife Zahra Rahnavard and Mehdi Karroubi, are all under house arrest, despite the fact that no clear legal reasoning was provided until now.

Iran judiciary orders the closure of MP Ali Motahari website

The Iranian judiciary has ordered the closure of the website of Ali Motahari. The conservative MP, is under attack for his speech in the Parliament in favor of Mousavi and Karroubi. For his words, Motahari was physically attacked by other Iranian MPs (please, click here to watch the video). More, recently Motahari denounced that the “freedom of speech has become more strained under the Rohani administration and self-censorship has become more common in the media“. In an interview with Tasnim News, Motahari remarked that “when the administration is reformist, there will be more pressure to prevent the government’s tendency toward opening the political atmosphere“.

Tehran’s graffiti for Freedom

Few months ago, a video was published in Internet showing IRGC commander Ali Jafari admitting that Pasdaran had acted illegally to avoid Green Movement victory in 2009 election. Jafari was speaking in a close room meeting of IRGC’s officials and, with no dubts, he clearly said that the victory of the Mousavi supporters was considered a redline by the Guards. The video was leaked by Mohammad Nourizad – former journalists of Khayan – turned in one of the most important regime opposer.

Now, an incredible graffiti arrives from Iran. A writer, who called himself “Black Hand”, has written on a wall of Tehran the Youtube link of Ali Jafari’s video. The clear goal is to denounce the unlawful behavior of the Pasdaran and their constant interfering in the political life of the Islamic Republic.

This is not the first graffiti of this writer. In the occasion of the Brazil 2014 World Cup, Black Hand has drawn another graffiti, in which is possible to see a woman wearing the Iran’s national team outfit and raising a bottle of washing liquid.
